Hey kiddos!
The gymnastics season for the year has finally come to an end, and I'm really glad that we did pretty well despite the obvious bias in judging (but that happens all the time, aye?). So congratulations to all of you because your hard work has paid off, even though the scores do not reflect all your efforts and abilities.
Cheer up, you guys (:
And on behalf of the sec4s, thank you so much juniors for the brilliant farewell performance even though it wasn't really good but it's the thought that counts right! HAHA.
Mmhm, well done Artistic, Trampoline, and Rhythmic Gymnastics! We've clinched the B Division title for both Artistic and the Rhythmic nationals! Our RI counterparts and RJ seniors all did really well, too (:
RAFFLES GYMNASTICS FOR ISTHEWIN.

Hello everyone! It's me posting - again - since no one else wants to post D:
Okay so tramp comp's in 3 days, and art comp's in 10 days. Reckon everyone's just as nervous and scared as me but don't be! I'm sure we'll do fine.
After all, I don't believe that life will treat us so badly as to let 3 gymnasts injure themselves and let us do badly for the 2 upcoming competitions. Which means that we will do well! I'm (almost) sure of it :D
Juniors-who-are-yet-to-be-injured (hopefully never), don't be too shaken or shocked by your Hengyeng/Cheryl's injuries yeah. To the trampers: Just do your routines as though nothing has happened and you'll do fine! Artistic side- train hard during the one week + you have left and don't be scared too!
As long as all of you stay calm and do your routines as per normal, I'm pretty sure you'll all do really, really well for comp (:
Oh anddd the jacket's super pretty right! It would have been prettier with green but as I've said before, NO ONE LISTENED TO ME D: Ahhh well, it still looks nice anyway aye!
Mm and reminder to all: Pass your moolah to Yinxin/Emily by Monday because your captain has to rush down to Aljunied to pay for the shirts okayyy. If you don't pay up then she'll have to pay for your shirts first and that's not being very nice to her, is that? D:
See yall on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, and jiayou everyone! (: POINT TOES AND KEEP YOUR LEGS STRAIGHT.
Oh and on behalf of Emily, here's the details of the tramp tryouts on Tuesday and those of comp day:
TUESDAY (Trampoline Tryouts @ CCAB)
COMPETITORS ONLY (i.e. 12 people)
Earliest you can leave class: 0830hrs
Meet at the FOYER at: 0855hrs
Change into your leotards and grab some food from the canteen before you assemble at the foyer. The chartered bus will be leaving at 0900hrs sharp so be there on time!
WEDNESDAY (NATIONAL INTERSCHOOL TRAMPOLINE CHAMPIONSHIPS)
COMPETITORS (i.e. 12 people)
Earliest you can leave class: 0830hrs
Meet at the FOYER at: 0855hrs
Like Tuesday, please change into your 'tards (hahaha remember Stick It?) and grab some food from the canteen before you assemble at the foyer. The chartered bus will leave at 0900hrs sharp for Henry Park Gymnasium, where we will warm up and get ready for comp. We will leave HPPS at approximately 1130hrs by bus (chartered) so that we can reach CCAB before 1200hrs.
NON-COMPETITORS
Earliest you can leave class: 1200hrs
Meet at the FOYER at: 1205hrs
Please do not be late because you don't have much time to travel to CCAB. The competition starts at 1230 so if you want to catch every minute of it, assemble at the foyer ON TIME! Form groups of 4 (or 3 if it can't be helped) and take a taxi down to CCAB. According to Emily's calculations, you can only take a total number of 7 taxis. Remember to get your receipts so that you can claim the money back from the gym funds.
With that said, ALL THE BEST TEAM! (:

Dear juniors,
The Inter-school National Trampoline Competition is in 16 days. 17, if you want to count March 31st itself. As for the Artistic Nats, they're one week later are they not? Hm I think that's about 23 or 24 days then.
Anywayyy. All of you (the school team) have been training for at least a year - if not, longer - and you guys should be of a certain standard by now right. No actually don't answer that question D: Haha but honestlyyy we have only 2 weeks left to train so make full use of this time to TRY and improve something. After all, no one's routine is perfect right?
I think I speak on behalf of the seniors here when I say that the effort we see yall putting in during training is still very minimal. Maybe you might not think so, or maybe we just don't see/understand what yall think/do, but from what we can see, it's still not enough.
Sad, but true.
Of course, there's been quite an improvement since the time yall started out! So let's try to maximise the time you have left (2 weeks for tramp, 3 weeks for art) and give our all for the upcoming competitions yeah? 2 or 3 weeks may not be enough for a miracle to happen, but we can always try.
If you don't know who your competitors are, let's just say that they're very strong. Very. For both the art and tramp nats.
So yes, please please please please pleaseeee train harder during the short span of time before the competitions, and do all of us ol' seniors proud aye! The previous generations of seniors have already built a name for us and we must carry on that legacy, no? (: Hahaha this is all so PC now but nevermind.
HENGYENG - JUMP HIGHER GIRL. IT'S SELF-EXPLANATORY.
CHERYL - STRAIGHTEN YOUR LEGS, POINT TOES, AND JUMP/LIFT FOR FRONT PIKE.
GWEN - JUMP HIGHER, STRAIGHTEN LEGS, CLOSE LEGS, POINT TOES, JUMP, AND LIFT FOR ALL YOUR MOVES.
KAREN - STRAIGHTEN LEGS PLEASEEEE. ESPECIALLY FOR FACE DROP. OH AND JUMP.
SHIRLYN - AWESOME ROUTINE, BUT CLOSE YOUR LEGS KTHXBAI.
KELLY-CLARE - uh I haven't really seen you do routines so I don't know what to say. Just do a nice routine k!
Yes. All of your seniors really really really want to see you guys up there receiving a medal, regardless of its colour. Gold, silver, bronze, or the er, 4th place medal (copper?), whatever it is. Please train hard now and do us proud okay? ):
Don't disappoint us! We don't expect much, actually. Just your best, which isn't hard to give if you're willing to put in effort.
Mmhm. Don't feel demoralised or anything when we scold/criticise your routines, but use the advice to improve your routines. Some of you may think that your routines really suck now (tbh, they are) but DON'T GIVE UP. You have 2 weeks left and it's enough to change something!
JIAYOU ALRIGHT (: Us B div trampers will try our best too.
Your seniors (on behalf of them),
Charlene, Dayna, Emily, Eunice C, Eunice G, Florence, Kelly, Steph, all in alphabetical order just for the heck of it! :D
P.S. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT, SO FREE GO TRAIN NOW LAH.

However, we've (sec 3s) have asked Mrs Wee about the attire that we have to be in, and she has given us permission to wear fbts, but please take note of the following:
1. You MUST wear the gym shirt 2008 on Wednesday, and you may wear fbts with that.
2. You should not be in any other shirts, school-approved or not.
3. You have to wear your culottes once you step out of the Bishan gym hall as long as your shirt is a school-approved one.
4. As for Friday- for those who have the gym shirts from previous years, you are encouraged to wear that. For the sec 1s, if you are able to wash the 08 gym shirt in time, you should wear that. If not, wear any other school-approved shirts.
Yup that's about it.
Keep this blog alive! (:

Even though I have a lot of work to do right now, I must say this.
RG GYM, WE OWNED COMP :D
Though we may not have won every title and stuff, I think we did great. The judges were obviously and ridiculously biased, so it couldn't be helped that we didn't get very high scores.
In any case, it was a job well done yeah (:
C Div- you guys were awesome. The rest of us were holding our breaths while you guys were jumping, and thankfully y'all did great. The scores may not have been very high, but that is not your fault at all okay.
All in all, you guys were great and I want you to know that your seniors are very, very proud of you (:
B Div, needless to say, WE TOTALLY OWNED HAHA.
We must have this same mindset next year ;D
